Instructional Strategist I Endorsement With Teaching Licensure (K-8)

Buena Vista University offers coursework in special education leading to an educational endorsement as an Instructional Strategist I: Mild/Moderate and/or Strategist II: Significant Support Needs Cognitive or Behavioral. This endorsement is designed to accompany coursework for a major in elementary education or secondary education licensure. Completion of any of these endorsement options allows one to teach in resource, inclusive/mainstreamed, and partially self-contained settings with students have exceptionalities in the area of mild to moderate disabilities and/or significant support needs. Buena Vista University also offers a major in Special Education leading to an endorsement as a K-12 Special Education Generalist.

Note(s)


Note: The Instructional Strategies I endorsement is taken in addition to a student’s primary area of teacher preparation (elementary or secondary education). The primary area of preparation includes 12 credit hours of student teaching. TEAC 490  will substitute for six of those student teaching credit hours.
