4 Credit(s)

Descriptive statistics, probability and probability distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, correlation and bivariate regression, analysis of variance. Applications involving the use of software are an integral part of the course; students who are not comfortable using basic Excel are strongly encouraged to co-enroll in ACCT 210 - Basic Excel Spreadsheets . Generally taken in the sophomore year.

Prerequisite(s): MATH 075  or university placement.

General Education Course - Foundations of Collegiate Learning - Quantitative Reasoning Elective
Course Frequency: F, S

Grading Method: Student option.

Learning Outcomes:
1.Generate descriptive statistics, charts, and graphs involving both discrete and continuous variables.2.Identify different types of discrete and continuous random variable distributions and calculate their probabilities.3.Produce confidence intervals and conduct hypothesis tests involving single and multiple means and proportions.4.Analyze situations involving bivariate and multiple linear regression models.
