MATH 123 - Mathematics for Elementary Education I 3 Credit(s)
In this course, future educators focus on a conceptual understanding of K-8 mathematics, the basis for mathematical processes taught in the elementary classroom, and methods suitable for enhancing their future students’ understanding of mathematics. Topics include: problem solving, reasoning and proof, algebraic thinking, number patterns, number systems and bases, whole number operations, fractions, and number theory.
Prerequisite(s): MATH 075 or university placement.
