ARTD 360 - Motion Graphics 3 Credit(s)
This studio course introduces students to the vocabularies and fundamental principles of time-based media design intended primarily for commercial or informative application. Students are introduced to the concepts of movement; transition; sequence; time and rhythm; pace; and editing.
Prerequisite(s): ARTD 180 , ARTD 185 , and ARTD 190 , or permission of the instructor.
Course Frequency: ALT F (odd years)
Grading Method: Student option.
Learning Outcomes: 1.Technical ability: Students will produce professional work that demonstrates proficiency in digital and analog media, including but not limited to: using Adobe Illustrator, AfterEffects, Media Encoder, and storyboarding digitally and on paper. 2.Narrative: Students will construct visual narratives using individual pieces of art, as well as storyboards and animatics. 3.Time: Students will experiment with time as an artistic tool, including working in series, using animation, and the display and viewing of work.4.Historical, cultural, and social contexts: Students will articulate the significance of art history, contemporary artists and art movements to the making of art and design. 5.Communication: Student will effectively communicate their ideas verbally, aesthetically, and in writing.
