ARTD 303 - Baroque to Modern Art 3 Credit(s)
This class will focus primarily on major artists, designers and developments in western European painting, sculpture, and architecture from Baroque to the Surrealism. In addition to the nature and development of individual, regional and period styles, we will consider shifting relationships between the arts and political, religious, social, and economic developments.

Grading Method: Student option.
Learning Outcomes: 1.Be able to identify the names of artists of discussed time periods, titles of artworks from course readings and lectures, and significant dates specific to the parameters of the course.2.Acquire and develop communication skills in the areas of visual analysis and interpretation of artworks.3.Show proficiency in ability to discuss artworks and historical events of the times covered in the course and relate them to broader life experiences and to the contemporary world.4.Become familiar with the significant works of art and architecture within the historical parameters of the course, the evolutionary trends in art history, and adept in scholarly research and writing.
