SCWK 390 - Social Work Practice I 4 Credit(s)
Students learn and apply generalist social work principles with emphasis on developing competency to practice with individuals, families, and small groups. Students develop their identity and conduct as professional social workers, apply social work ethical principles to practice, and apply diversity and difference in practice situations. Students evaluate policy analysis and research skills as they apply to practice, and learn and implement skills to engage, assess, intervene, and evaluate clients within the context of human behavior and the social environment. This course consists of three lecture hours and one hour of laboratory per week.
Prerequisite(s): Admitted to the social work major.
