PHYS 110 - Introduction to Astronomy

This course provides the student with an introduction to the field of astronomy. Topics include the historical development of astronomy, the evolution and structure of astrophysical systems such as the solar system, stars, and galaxies, and modern cosmological views. During the semester there will be several opportunities to observe the universe with a telescope. Observations may be required by the instructor.
