MATH 075 - Introductory Mathematics

This course covers basic mathematics topics such as arithmetic of fractions, decimals, and signed numbers; percents, ratios, and proportions; basic rules and techniques for manipulation of algebraic symbols and expressions (including exponents and radicals); and solution methods, graphs, and applications of linear equations. Enrollment by university placement.

General Education Course - Foundations of Collegiate Learning.

Notes: Must earn a grade of “C-” or better.

Learning Outcomes:
1.Review mathematical manipulations of whole numbers, integers, fractions, decimals, and real numbers2.Solve and balance equations and inequalities using multiple algebraic techniques3.Apply learned skills in solving equations to solve real-world problems4.Develop linear equations and inequalities using linear graphs, slopes, and intercepts5.Solve equations and inequalities with multiple variables6.Manipulate polynomials7.Apply multiple strategies to factor polynomial expressions8.Utilize arithmetic, algebraic, and factoring methods to solve rational expressions and equations
