Business - Agricultural Business Concentration (B.A.)

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Undergraduate Degrees

The Business major in the Harold Walter Siebens School of Business is a business administration degree designed to prepare students for successful careers in business organizations and industry. The curriculum emphasizes experiential learning and is designed to develop in students a sophisticated understanding of contemporary business, as well as strong analytical, communication, and professional skills. Students learn to understand the functional areas of business, entrepreneurship, and the free enterprise system through courses taught in an applied context, requiring students to integrate business concepts to solve business problems in practical business situations, simulations and/or settings.

In addition to the courses in the Business core, students complete a business concentration in management, marketing, financial decision-making, sport business or agricultural business. Students whose only major is Business must select a business concentration or the Accounting minor. Selecting a business concentration or the Accounting minor is optional for students who earn a double major (e.g., in Accounting or a major outside the School of Business).

The business minor is designed to introduce non-business majors to the foundational concepts of business and apply business concepts to real world business problems.

The minor in small business and rural entrepreneurship is designed to introduce non-business majors to the foundational concepts in entrepreneurship and apply these concepts to their discipline.
