The Agricultural Business major in the Harold Walter Siebens School of Business is a business administration degree designed to prepare students for careers in agricultural business and allied industries. The curriculum includes training in the functional areas of business with emphases in agricultural management, marketing, economics, finance, production, operations and strategy. Experiential learning, internships, and other value-added opportunities enhance students’ professional training. Elective courses in agricultural science and advanced courses in agricultural business, law, policy, regulations, tax, sales, entrepreneurship, and other special topics allow students to gain specialized knowledge of the industry. Courses emphasize theory-to-practice application, requiring students to integrate business concepts to solve problems in practical agricultural business situations, simulations and/or settings. In doing so, students build strong analytical, communication, and professional skills that position them for career success.
