GECI 543 - Methods of Teaching English as a Second Language 3 Credit(s)
This course provides an overview of the theoretical foundations and applications of language instruction approaches, methods, and techniques that are effective in the second language classroom. Recent trends and historical approaches to teaching English as a second language and their applicability will be investigated. The concept of communicative language teaching will be thoroughly studied. Appropriate connections with other disciplines will be made. Teachers will demonstrate teaching and learning principles that lead to a student-centered, interactive classroom.
