ARTD 367 - 3D Modeling and Animation 3 Credit(s)
Building on 3D principles, students are introduced to sculpting, modeling, and animating in 3D. Emphasis on the principles of designing and producing 3D computer animation.
Prerequisite(s): ARTD 320 or permission of the instructor.
Course Frequency: ALT F (odd years)
Grading Method: Student option.
Learning Outcomes: 1.Technical ability: Students will produce professional work that demonstrates media knowledge and technical skill. This includes but is not limited to: proportions, spatial accuracy and comprehension, blockouts, principals of animation, sculpture, and appropriate hardware and software (ZBrush, Blender, etc). 2.Composition: Students will grapple with creating structurally accurate and interesting compositions when viewed from all angles. 3.Historical, cultural, and social contexts: Students will articulate the significance of art history, contemporary artists and art movements to the making of art and design. 4.Communication: Student will effectively communicate their ideas verbally, aesthetically, and in writing.
