AGSC 420 - Animal Health and Wellness

This course introduces animal husbandry practices associated with disease mitigation, with a focus on common respiratory, reproductive and metabolic diseases as well as the epidemiology - the study of disease, including distribution, determinants, clinical symptoms of morbidity and mortality in livestock species as well as the interconnections across species, including human.

Learning Outcomes:
  1. Be able to identify the factors influencing herd health.
  2. Understanding of common pathogens and management practices to reduce health risk.
  3. Learn to improve the efficiency of animal husbandry practices to improve herd health, implementing those practices with conderation for food safety.
